Privacy Policy
1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data
New Horizons y Cargo LLC, owner of the KLENDARS application, is responsible for the processing of the personal data described in this Policy. This Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what control you have over it.
2. Information We Collect
We collect: (a) Account data: your email address. (b) Profile data: first name, last name, username, age, and profile picture, if you choose to provide them. (c) Content you enter: bills, amounts, categories, budgets, income, lists, purchases, stores, prices, products, expiration dates, events, reminders, and payment method aliases. (d) Approximate location: only when you use a location-based feature (such as finding nearby stores), and only to carry out that request — it is used at that moment and is not stored on our servers. (e) Camera: the App uses the camera so you can scan QR codes and product barcodes and dates; these scans are processed on your device, and camera images are not collected or stored. (f) Preferences you set, such as allergy preferences, which are stored only on your device. (g) Technical data needed to operate the App. We only collect what is necessary to provide the service to you.
3. Sensitive Data We Do NOT Collect
The App is designed NOT to store full card numbers, security codes (CVV), PINs, or online-banking credentials. For payment methods, we only store an alias and, optionally, the last 4 digits as a reference. Do not provide sensitive financial data within the App.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to: create and manage your account; provide and improve the App's features; sync your information across your devices; enable the sharing features that you choose to activate; perform location and product look-ups you request; send you service-related notifications; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your financial Content for advertising purposes, and we do not sell it.
5. Legal Basis and Consent
We process your data on the basis of the performance of the service contract (these Terms), your consent — which you give when you register and accept this Policy — and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App. You may withdraw your consent by deleting your account.
6. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your information is stored on cloud infrastructure provided by service providers located in the United States. We apply access controls so that, as a general rule, only you can access your information, except when you use sharing features.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only: (a) with other users, when you activate sharing features (lists, events, or expenses); (b) with providers that help us operate the App (for example, hosting and database services), under confidentiality obligations; (c) with third-party services strictly to perform a feature you request — for example, a scanned barcode is sent to an open product database to retrieve product information, and your approximate location is sent to a mapping service to find nearby stores; (d) when required by law or a competent authority; and (e) in the context of a corporate reorganization, maintaining the protections of this Policy.
8. AI Features and Data
When you talk to Mochi (our AI assistant), your conversation, a numeric summary of your in-app data (budgets, bills, tasks — never full card numbers) and the facts you explicitly tell Mochi may be sent to third-party AI providers acting on our behalf (currently Google and/or Anthropic) solely to generate responses. Depending on the provider and service tier, the provider may process this data under its own privacy terms. The "profile" Mochi builds about you is stored in our database under your account, is visible only to you, and is deleted together with your account. If you use your own API key, requests are made with your key under your direct relationship with that provider, and the key is stored only on your device.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including database-level access controls. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and your device.
10. Retention and Deletion
We retain your data while your account is active. You may delete your information or your account from within the App; when you do, your Content is removed from our active systems within a reasonable period, except for what we must retain due to a legal obligation. The record of acceptance of the Terms may be retained as proof of consent.
11. Privacy of Minors
The App is intended for adults and is not directed to minors. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@klendars.com and we will delete it.
12. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly within the App or by contacting us at support@klendars.com.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes within the App. Continued use of the App after the update constitutes your acceptance of the then-current Policy.
14. Contact
For any questions about privacy or how your data is handled, contact us at support@klendars.com.
